Informing America Foundation Selected as Winner of 2024 Gregor G. Peterson Prize in Venture Philanthropy

Washington, D.C. – Informing America Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping news and media outlets educate the American people about important public policy issues via high-quality investigative journalism, was chosen as the winner of the 2024 Gregor G. Peterson Prize in Venture Philanthropy. The Informing America Foundation ecosystem is composed of more than 2,000 hyperlocal media platforms and 10 national platforms producing unbiased, fact-driven journalism that reaches more than 50 million people.
The award will be presented on Wednesday, December 4, during the American Legislative Exchange Council’s States & Nation Policy Summit in Washington, D.C.

The $250,000 prize honors Greg Peterson’s core business principles – including teamwork, innovation, and entrepreneurship—and applies these values to the nonprofit sector. Peterson was a pioneer in the field of venture capital from the San Francisco Bay Area.
