The Giving Game at Brighton Jones

Brighton Jones, a Seattle-based wealth management and financial advisory company, selected HJCA’s Nicole Hoplin as one of eleven presenters for its first annual “Giving Game.”  As part of its efforts to kick-off the giving season, Brighton Jones committed to giving away $10,000 to qualified charities.

Presenters shared a three minute “pitch” of a nonprofit organization.  All audience members received tokens (representing real cash) to distribute as they wished amongst the eleven groups.  Then, Brighton Jones sends out the donations!

Hoplin and her three sons prepared remarks about Gen Justice, an organization led by foster care reform advocate Darcy Olsen.  In addition to Gen Justice, other groups focused on urban farming, mentorship, water access, promoting the arts, and homelessness.

Approximately 140 families tuned into the live Zoom webinar to learn about new initiatives which they may choose to support personally through their own charitable giving and volunteer time following the seminar. The Giving Game provides exposure to nonprofits but also inspiration to Brighton Jones’ clients who want to engage philanthropically in the community.
